Natural weight loss is the best way to improve your size and general well being.

Natural weight loss would be better described as a weight correction measure than a slimming diet because those who are underweight will gain as much benefit from a natural weight loss program as the overweight. In fact, natural weight gain would be just as good a description for a healthy eating  program.
If you follow long term naturally healthy eating habits those who are overweight will gradually come down to a more normal weight and those who are underweight will tend to put on
a little, but remember, healthy eating should be a way of life - not something you do just to correct your weight. So, what are the right habits?

1) Enjoy your food. Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures and not one you have to sacrifice to be at your best weight. That old maxim - if it ain't hurting, it ain't working - doesn't apply here. Aim to have your cake and eat it. Consider diets like the Mediterranean diet or perhaps the Hay diet. They are ways of eating that can be enjoyed on a lifetime basis without ever going hungry. If it's not enjoyable you won't keep it up.
2) Enjoy cooking. Simple observation of a few things in the kitchen will help you eat more healthily and correct your size with no effort at all. The better your diet the closer to your right size you will be. Take a look at some simple cooking tips.
3)  Don't be impatient. Healthy natural weight loss diets take a little time. Its better to lose 1lb per week that stays off than 5lbs that comes piling back on again at a later time. Don't run to the scales every day, weigh yourself once a month to see the real results. The trick is not trying try too hard to lose weight.
Most dieters have experienced the yo yo effect, losing weight - maybe several times - only to find it piles back on again. By learning to worry less about your diet and just getting on with enjoying a naturally  healthy way of eating and living these sort of problems will cease to happen to you.
4) Be realistic.
Have realistic goals.  Don't try to get thin. If we were all the same then people of the same height and bone structure and eating habits would be the same weight - and this is clearly  not the case. Do we all grow to the same height? -  No. Do we all have the same colour hair? - No, and neither do we all have the same natural weight.
Don't be fooled by these posters of super slim people and think that we can all get to this 'ideal' size. It isn't ideal and for most people is unattainable unless you almost literally starve yourself.
When you get to the stage of  'that  last five pounds I just can't seem to shift' then you most likely don't need to shift it. You're already there.
5) Counting calories is not the best approach to natural weight loss, it can become a life long habit and leaves you feeling everlastingly hungry. True, you will lose weight but how long before it all piles back on again? The majority of slimmers regain the weight they've lost. If you eat a sensible diet you can let the calories take care of themselves - any naturally healthy diet will automatically lead to a reduction in total energy intake without you noticing it. By eating and exercising sensibly your body will find its own ideal size. It's an excellent self regulating mechanism and left to get on with its job at its own speed it will take you painlessly to your goal of a new, permanently slimmer you.
6) Only eat for health. Health wise it's better to remain at the same weight constantly, even if it's overweight, than to keep shocking your system by shedding the pounds and then piling them on again. By focusing on eating healthily, not just for weight loss you will avoid this roller coaster. Any needed weight loss will occur naturally and gradually.
7) Treat diet aids with common sense. You don't want to get addicted to pills or weight loss patches, laxative weight loss programs, water weight loss and the like. 9) Don't be too strict with yourself. Eat for fun. Give up strawberries and cream? No way. Invited out for a meal at a friends home? Accept the invite and eat what they serve and enjoy it. Food is to be enjoyed and when you start enjoying your food and you're gradually losing unwanted weight naturally you'll be on the right road to a permanently slim you.
